China's Primary Aluminum Imports Rise in April 2025, While Cumulative Imports Decline YoY

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, domestic primary aluminum imports in China reached approximately 2.505 million mt in April 2025, up 12.8% MoM and 14.6% YoY. From January to April 2025, the cumulative total of domestic primary aluminum imports was approximately 634,300 mt, down 11.2% YoY. Domestic primary aluminum exports in China amounted to approximately 13,700 mt in April 2025, up 54.6% MoM and 643.0% YoY. From January to April 2025, the cumulative total of primary aluminum exports was approximately 34,500 mt, up approximately 139.6% YoY. The net imports of domestic primary aluminum in China were 236,800 mt in April 2025, up 11.1% MoM and 14.8% YoY. From January to April 2025, the cumulative net imports of domestic primary aluminum were approximately 799,800 mt, down 13.6% YoY.
