Australian rare earth producer Lynas successfully produced its first batch of heavy rare earth element products at its plant in Malaysia. Amanda Lacaze, CEO of Lynas, stated that the Lynas Malaysia plant is the only enterprise outside of China capable of commercially producing and supplying separated heavy rare earth elements, thereby solidifying Malaysia's position as a global hub for the rare earth industry. The heavy rare earth product produced at the Lynas rare earth plant in Gebeng Industrial Zone, Kuantan, Pahang, is dysprosium, while another heavy rare earth product, terbium, is set to commence production in June this year. According to Lynas' quarterly report in March this year, the dysprosium production line began operations in the first quarter of this year and commenced production in May.
