[Guan Zhao from the Ministry of Transport: Steadily Launch Pilot Demonstrations of Electric Heavy-Duty Truck Battery Swapping Model and New Energy Heavy-Duty Truck Transportation] Guan Zhao, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Services of the Ministry of Transport, stated today that as of now, there are 6,527 service areas nationwide with completed construction of charging parking spaces, 35,000 charging piles, and 51,000 charging parking spaces, accounting for 98% of the total number of expressway service areas. Next, the Ministry of Transport will earnestly implement the guidance opinions of 10 departments on promoting the integrated development of transportation and energy. Leveraging major projects such as the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, the Jiangmen Outbound Transport Corridor, and the expansion and reconstruction of the main lines of national expressways, the Ministry will create model near-zero-emission transport corridors. It will guide various regions to steadily launch pilot demonstrations of the electric heavy-duty truck battery swapping model and new energy heavy-duty truck transportation, relying on advantageous scenarios such as port drayage and branch line short-haul transportation, as well as trunk freight routes with fixed routes and fixed car models, and actively explore new scenarios and models for the application of new energy heavy-duty trucks.
