บริษัท Scatec ASA จากนอร์เวย์ ได้เริ่มก่อสร้างโครงการโซลาร์เซลล์ Obelisk ขนาด 1.1 กิกะวัตต์ ในอียิปต์ ซึ่งรวมถึงระบบเก็บพลังงานแบตเตอรี่ขนาด 100 เมกะวัตต์/200 เมกะวัตต์ชั่วโมง โครงการนี้มีมูลค่าโดยประมาณทั้งหมด 590 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ และได้รับการสนับสนุนจากเงินกู้ระยะสั้นเพื่อทุนหมุนเวียนจำนวน 120 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ ซึ่งแบ่งเป็น 90 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ จากกองทุนพลังงานอาหรับ (ครบกำหนดในไตรมาสที่ 2 ของปี 2571) และ 30 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ จากธนาคารเพื่อการพัฒนาและการสร้างชาติยุโรป (EBRD) (ครบกำหนดในไตรมาสที่ 1 ของปี 2570)

Scatec ยังได้รับการตกลงจากสถาบันการเงินเพื่อการพัฒนาสำหรับการระดมทุนโครงการระยะยาวแบบไม่มีการเรียกร้องคืน และอยู่ระหว่างการเจรจากับพันธมิตรทางทุนที่มีศักยภาพ ซึ่งคาดว่าจะแล้วเสร็จในอีกไม่กี่เดือนข้างหน้า ข้อตกลงเหล่านี้ช่วยให้ Scatec สามารถเลื่อนการมีส่วนร่วมทางทุนจนกว่าการก่อสร้างจะแล้วเสร็จ
