Four Highlights Concluded Successfully, Highstar's Sodium-ion Battery Shines at CIBF

Published: May 19, 2025 10:45

From May 15 to 17, 2025, the 17th China International Battery Fair (CIBF2025), themed "Connecting the Globe, Empowering the Green Future, Driving Tomorrow," grandly opened at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. As a bellwether for the global battery industry, this exhibition brought together top-tier enterprises, research institutions, and industry leaders worldwide to jointly explore the cutting-edge trends in new energy technologies and the future of the industry.

At this year's CIBF, Highstar Sodium Star showcased its full range of products, offering four highlights:

1. Sodium-ion Battery Technology Sharing

Teng Yanmei, co-founder and CTO of Highstar Sodium Star, delivered a speech at the Sodium-ion Battery Technology Forum on the theme of "NFPP Sodium-ion Battery Technology Characteristics and Application Prospects." She systematically elaborated on Highstar's comprehensive research journey in sodium-ion battery technology since 2021, shared practical experiences in productizing sodium-ion battery technology, and analyzed the unique performance advantages and broad application prospects of NFPP sodium-ion batteries.

2. Collaboration with Industry Experts

During the exhibition, Highstar Sodium Star officially appointed Mr. He Xiangming, Director of the New Energy and Materials Chemistry Research Laboratory at the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University; Mr. Wang Zhenbo, a second-tier tenured professor at Harbin Institute of Technology and a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering; and Ms. Yin Yaxia, a "Chang Jiang Scholar" Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education and Vice Dean of the School of Chemistry at Xinjiang University, as members of its Expert Committee to safeguard the steady development of sodium-ion battery technology.

As a pioneer in the sodium-ion battery industry, Highstar has always adhered to a development philosophy led by technology, closely collaborating with industry experts to advance the industrialisation of sodium-ion batteries.

3. Media Live Streaming Interaction

To enable online friends following CIBF to learn about Highstar Sodium Star, media outlets such as GGII Sodium-ion Battery, Qidian Sodium-ion Battery, and Mariana visited Highstar during the exhibition, using live streaming to introduce the technological development, market prospects, and strategic planning of Highstar's sodium-ion batteries to online audiences.

4. Full Range of Sodium-ion Battery Products Attract Significant Attention

At this exhibition, Highstar Sodium Star showcased ESS, automotive start-stop, special vehicle power, and backup power products, which garnered significant attention from users. Given the technological advantages of sodium-ion batteries in terms of safety, high and low temperature performance, C-rate, etc., user acceptance is increasing. With the continuous release of upstream capacity, the industrialisation of sodium-ion batteries is expected to accelerate further in 2025, becoming a key path for the development of the battery industry.

According to the latest data from the Passenger Car Association, in December 2025, producers with new energy wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 units accounted for 93% of the total wholesale sales of passenger NEVs that month. Based on preliminary January data, these producers achieved sales of 830,000 units in January. As most producers have already locked in their major sales figures, by applying the structural proportion from the previous month to the current month's data, the estimated wholesale sales of passenger NEVs nationwide in January were 900,000 units. According to comprehensive preliminary monthly association data: the estimated wholesale sales of NEVs by national passenger car producers in January 2026 were 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.
