From May 15 to 17, 2025, the 17th China International Battery Fair (CIBF2025), themed "Linking the Globe, Empowering the Green Future", grandly opened at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. As a "bellwether of the global battery industry", CIBF2025 attracted global attention, drawing top-tier enterprises, research institutions, and industry leaders from around the world.
Zhou Wen, Chairman of Shanghai Pret Composites Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Highstar Battery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., attended the opening ceremony with great honor. Following the successful conclusion of the opening ceremony, Chairman Zhou Wen accompanied Zheng Hongyu, Chairman of the Association, and other leaders to visit the Highstar booth. Su Jinran, a technical expert from the company, provided an in-depth analysis of Highstar's core advantages in semi-solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and energy storage system solutions to Chairman Zheng Hongyu and his delegation, injecting authoritative vitality into the exhibition with professional insights.
Highstar made a dazzling appearance with its semi-solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, full-tab lithium-ion batteries, and system solutions, comprehensively showcasing cutting-edge technological pathways and a diverse product matrix, attracting keen interest from global professionals.
Conquering Cutting-Edge Solid-State Technology
Capitalizing on its success, Highstar unveiled the world's first 314Ah semi-solid-state battery at The Smarter E Europe 2025 in Europe. Leveraging breakthrough solid-liquid hybrid electrolyte technology, it redefined the safety boundaries of energy storage. Currently, Guangdong Highstar has completed the construction of two automated production lines with an annual capacity of 6GWh. With the launch of the high-capacity 314Ah semi-solid-state battery, Highstar's semi-solid-state batteries, boasting high safety, long cycle life, and low cost, can meet the demands of diverse scenarios, widely applicable in fields such as renewable energy storage and the low-altitude economy. They excel in energy storage systems, suitable for grid-scale energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, household energy storage, data centers, computing centers, and backup power supplies for communication base stations, effectively enhancing energy utilization rates. Meanwhile, they also hold promising application prospects in the future for public transit buses, heavy-duty trucks, electric ships, construction machinery, and other fields.
Leading the Industrialization of Sodium-Ion Batteries
Highstar's sodium-ion battery division focuses on polyanion technology, accelerating commercialization layouts across multiple fields such as special vehicles, backup power, and energy storage. Its sodium-ion battery products boast excellent performance and have garnered multiple authoritative certifications. During the exhibition, domestic commercial orders for NFPP sodium-ion industrial and commercial energy storage products continued to grow, with a 10MWh overseas project awaiting delivery. In the field of communication backup power, it has embarked on a new journey of trials in collaboration with operators, with large-scale applications expected in 2025. In the special vehicle sector, it has formed strong alliances with leading customers to advance the application of forklifts. In the area of data center backup power, it has collaborated with leading users to carry out demonstration validations.
The sodium-ion battery business operates independently, integrating resources to accelerate R&D and capacity expansion, aiming for a leading position in the global sodium-ion battery sector. Highstar Sodium Star has hired multiple experts from professional technical committees to safeguard the steady development of Highstar's sodium-ion battery technology.
Technological Innovation in Mainstream Lithium-ion Battery Technology
In the small power exhibition area, five star products with full tabs made a stunning debut. These products reduce internal resistance by over 70%, achieve an energy density exceeding 260Wh/kg, and offer the remarkable performance of fast charging to 80% in just 10 minutes, perfectly meeting the power demands of high-end electric-assisted bicycles and intelligent logistics vehicles. Meanwhile, the 2.5GWh full-tab production line at the Malaysian factory is poised for launch, leveraging the advantages of the local supply chain to swiftly respond to overseas market demands.
In the ESS sector, Highstar's exhibited multi-scenario energy storage systems, including the 314Ah LFP battery cell, 5G intelligent communication backup power supply, and balcony energy storage system, attracted significant attention. The industrial and commercial ESS systems adopt a liquid cooling solution and modular design, saving space, reducing operation and maintenance costs, and enhancing energy management efficiency through efficient monitoring functions.
During the same period, the "CIBF2025 Advanced Battery Frontier Technology Seminar" focused on hot topics in the industry. Teng Yanmei, co-founder and CTO of Guangdong Highstar Sodium Star Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Highstar, will deliver a keynote speech at the sodium-ion battery key technology forum. You are welcome to attend and engage in discussions.
From May 16-17, you are invited to visit Highstar's booth (14T059) to explore more exciting exhibits.
