Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 13, XPENG officially announced its entry into the Italian market. As part of its brand-building efforts, the company made a high-profile debut at Milan Design Week 2025, becoming one of the first Chinese EV startups to participate in the event. XPENG showcased its products at the ADI Design Museum, a flagship venue for the weeklong exhibition.

At the launch event in Italy, XPENG presented three flagship innovations: the XPENG P7+, the XPENG X2 flying car, and its humanoid robot—highlighting the company's full-scenario "AI + mobility" ecosystem.

Italy is among the top five auto markets in Europe and a frontrunner in the region's electrification transition. To accelerate the shift toward electric mobility, the Italian government has rolled out incentive policies such as tax breaks and charging infrastructure investments, with a goal of reaching an annual production capacity of 1.3 million NEVs by the end of 2025.

On the infrastructure front, Italy's national charging network is expanding at an annual rate of 35%, now exceeding 40,000 locations—forming the most dense and intelligent charging ecosystem in Southern Europe.

Market data shows a surge in NEV adoption in Italy, with sales jumping 59.6% year-on-year in the first two months of 2025, lifting market share to over 7.2%. Northern Italy, particularly cities like Milan and Bologna, is emerging as a hub for green consumerism.

Before officially entering Italy, XPENG had already begun expanding across Southern Europe and has made substantial progress. The company now covers nearly the entire Southern European market and has established a presence in more than ten European countries. Europe remains a strategic launchpad for XPENG's global expansion.

Outside Europe, XPENG is also actively expanding into Southeast Asia, where it is implementing a closed-loop strategy combining localized production and charging infrastructure deployment.

As of April 30, 2025, XPENG's global charging network spans 31 countries and regions, with access to over 2.07 million charging piles.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
