[Baidu Prepares to Launch Driverless Ride-Hailing Service in Europe] Chinese internet giant Baidu is preparing to test its driverless ride-hailing service in Europe for the first time, marking its latest effort to expand overseas amid intensifying competition in its domestic market. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Baidu (BIDU.O) has been in negotiations with PostAuto, a public bus service provider under Swiss Post, with plans to launch its Apollo Go driverless taxi service in Switzerland. Baidu plans to establish a local entity in Switzerland in the coming months and begin testing the technology by the end of this year. The sources also said that Baidu plans to launch Apollo Go in Turkey.
