BYD enters Romania with four NEV models, plans over 30 outlets by 2025

On May 8, BYD officially entered the Romanian market, introducing four models: the SEALION 7, SEAL, SEAL U DM-i, and ATTO 2.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 8, BYD officially entered the Romanian market, introducing four models: the SEALION 7, SEAL, SEAL U DM-i, and ATTO 2.

According to the company, BYD has partnered with leading local dealers Tiriac Auto and DAB Auto to open its first showroom in the capital city of Bucharest. By the end of 2025, BYD plans to establish more than 30 sales outlets across major cities including Ploiesti, Brasov, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Constanta, Pitesti and Craiova.

Since launching its "passenger car going global" initiative in May 2021, BYD has steadily expanded its international footprint. The Chinese carmaker is now present in several countries and regions, including Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, and the UK.

In addition to vehicle exports, BYD is also expanding its manufacturing footprint abroad. The company has set up overseas production facilities in markets such as Uzbekistan and Thailand.

On April 28, BYD held a grand groundbreaking ceremony for its passenger vehicle plant in Cambodia's Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone.

The plant will cover 120,000 square meters, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units focused on new energy vehicles. It is scheduled to begin operations by the end of this year, aiming to deliver high-quality NEVs to the Cambodian market.
