Maruemu Works Co., Ltd. has introduced a new-type hybrid implant concept that combines a magnesium-based coating film with new functional effects and traditional biomaterials (such as titanium) to ensure mechanical strength. The magnesium-based coating film is deposited on a titanium substrate via magnetron sputtering, using magnesium-calcium alloy targets with varying calcium contents. The alloy targets are prepared using an argon deoxidation casting method. When the calcium content is below 10%, the film exhibits a crystalline structure; however, when the calcium content exceeds 10%, the film begins to significantly amorphize and fully transforms into an amorphous state when the calcium content exceeds 30%.
