[China-U.S. Economic & Trade Talks Yield Substantial Progress, Key Consensus Reached, Joint Statement to Be Issued!]According to SMM, the high-level China-U.S. economic and trade talks were held in Geneva, Switzerland from May 10 to 11. He Lifeng, China’s lead representative and Vice Premier of the State Council, stated at a press briefing by the Chinese delegation that the talks were "candid, in-depth, and constructive," resulting in significant consensus and substantive progress. Both sides agreed to establish a China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism.The two nations will finalize relevant details promptly and release a joint statement on May 12 outlining the outcomes. He Lifeng emphasized that the talks, closely watched by the international community amid current tensions, marked a critical step toward resolving differences through equal dialogue.
