On April 30, 2025, LONGi announced a major agreement with global energy company ENGIE to supply its Hi-MO 9 solar modules for large-scale solar projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the use of back contact (BC) technology for high-efficiency renewable energy.

LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 modules deliver up to 670W of power, 24.8% efficiency, and bifaciality up to 80%. Their back contact design relocates all cell electrodes to the rear, minimizing shading losses and improving light absorption, temperature performance, and long-term reliability, especially in harsh climates.

Both companies emphasized the partnership’s role in promoting sustainable and large-scale solar development in the MENA region. LONGi aims to set new standards in efficiency and durability, while ENGIE views the project as part of its mission to lead the global energy transition.
