Fraunhofer ISE Develops HJT Solar Cell with One-Tenth the Silver Usage of Standard Cells

Published: May 11, 2025 16:49
Scientists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) have developed a new-type HJT solar cell that uses only one-tenth the amount of silver compared to standard cells. Fraunhofer ISE stated that the cell consumes only 0.0014 grams of silver per watt peak power output, "approximately one-tenth of the current industrial production standard.
