Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 9, Geely's Galaxy Xingyao 8 model officially hit the market, offering two powertrain options: the NordThor EM-P Super Hybrid and the NordThor EM-i Super Hybrid. During the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025, two additional variants with basic assisted driving features were introduced, bringing the total to seven trims. Official prices range from 125,800 yuan to 165,800 yuan. With a limited-time discount of 10,000 yuan, the starting price drops to 115,800 yuan.

The Galaxy Xingyao 8 adopts Geely's "Ripple Aesthetics" design philosophy, merging traditional Chinese cultural motifs with cutting-edge technology. Signature elements include the "Flying Eaves Tiger Gaze" LED headlights, a fluid "Glazed Streamlight" side profile, and "Rising Sun" taillights. Combined with modern details like frameless windows, hidden door handles, and 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, the design conveys a uniquely Chinese-tech aesthetic.

Six body colors are available—Jihai Blue, Shanhe Green, Tianji White, Guomo Grey, Dianluo Silver, and Jianzhan Black—each inspired by traditional Chinese artifacts or cultural themes, highlighting a refined sense of indigenous luxury.

Inside, the cabin features soft-touch materials covering 85% of surfaces, including Alcantara-like trim on the headliner, pillars, and sun visors for a premium tactile experience. Electrically adjustable executive seats come with heating, ventilation, 8-point massage, and control via both physical buttons and voice commands.

The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 8 is the first model in the Galaxy lineup to feature the Flyme Sound audio system. Equipped with 23 speakers, a 2,000W independent amplifier, and a 7.1.4 surround configuration, it supports four virtual concert hall sound effects, four seat-based sound zones, six preset EQ modes, and seven customizable frequency bands.

The model measures 5,018 mm in length, 1,918 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,928 mm.

The variant equipped with the NordThor EM-i Super Hybrid system features a 1.5L hybrid-dedicated engine with a 46.5% thermal efficiency, paired with an 11-in-1 E-DHT electric drive unit. This enables the model to achieve a fuel consumption of just 3.36 liters per 100 km (CLTC) when the battery is depleted. The EM-P version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.49 seconds and delivers a charge-sustaining fuel consumption of 3.67 liters per 100 km (CLTC).

The Xingyao 8 model carries Geely's self-developed G-Pilot advanced driver-assistance system and supports optional LiDAR device. Backed by dual smart driving chips with up to 116 TOPS of processing power, the system enables NOA (navigate on autopilot) for highways and elevated roads, emergency maneuvering at speeds up to 120 km/h, three-second lane-change assist, and APA (automated parking assist) in over 300 complex scenarios, including tight, dead-end, and dim-light spaces.
