【SMM Analysis】Analysis of Weekly Price Trends for ESS DC-side Battery Cabins, 5.01-5.08

[SMM Analysis] This week, the prices of DC-side battery cabins slightly declined. The average price of a 5MWh DC-side battery cabin was 0.43 yuan/Wh; the average price of a 3.44/3.77MWh DC-side battery cabin was 0.438 yuan/Wh.

This week, the prices of DC-side battery cabins slightly declined. The average price of a 5MWh DC-side battery cabin was 0.43 yuan/Wh, while the average price of 3.44/3.77MWh DC-side battery cabins was 0.438 yuan/Wh. The price of lithium carbonate continued to fall, providing room for cost reduction in battery cells and indirectly driving the compression of DC-side prices. Additionally, the detailed rules for the participation of energy storage systems in the electricity market mechanism have not yet been fully introduced in all provinces. As a result, project owners are mostly adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Energy storage integrators are competing for orders through low-price strategies, which is also contributing to the downward trend in the prices of DC-side battery cabins. Looking ahead, SMM expects that the prices of DC-side battery cabins in May may continue to decline.

On May 7, the winning bid result for the 95MW/190MWh shared ESS power station project in Taixing Economic Development Zone was announced. The project is located in Taixing Economic Development Zone, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. The project plans to build a new 95MW/190MWh independent shared ESS power station, with LFP batteries used for energy storage. The bid winner offered a price of 265.04 million yuan, which translates to a unit price of 1.395 yuan/Wh after conversion.
