Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 7, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited ("Geely Automobile") announced plans to acquire all outstanding shares of Zeekr Intelligent Technology Holding Limited ("Zeekr Group"), of which it currently owns approximately 65.7%. Upon completion, Zeekr will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Geely Automobile.

The move marks a significant step in executing the "Tāizhōu Declaration," as Geely intensifies its focus on its core automotive business, enhances resource efficiency, and deepens brand collaboration. The full integration is expected to bolster Geely's global competitiveness in the intelligent new energy vehicle (NEV) sector.

Geely Automobile's brand portfolio now includes Zeekr, positioned as a global premium technology brand; Lynk & Co, targeting the high-end NEV market; and both Galaxy Galaxy and China Star series, aimed at the global mainstream segments. While each brand continues to expand its presence in its respective market niche, the group is also strengthening synergies across technology, product development, supply chain, manufacturing, marketing and service, and global expansion. This collaborative approach is designed to boost innovation and unlock economies of scale.

Geely Automobile recorded total sales of 234,112 vehicles in April 2025, marking a 53% year-on-year surge. This also marks the eighth consecutive month for the automaker to achieve monthly sales surpassing 200,000 units.

Among them, new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 125,563 units, zooming up 144% year on year, accounting for 53.63% of Geely Automobile's total sales.

Geely Holding Group Chairman Li Shufu stated, "Amid fierce market competition and a complex economic landscape, we will remain agile and continue integrating our automotive operations in line with the Tāizhōu Declaration. Returning to a unified Geely, we aim to consolidate technological strengths, enhance innovation and profitability, and create long-term value. Our goal is to build a globally leading intelligent electric vehicle group."

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
