In FY2025 (April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025), Vedanta in India achieved a new record high in alumina production, reaching 2.421 million mt, up 2.11% YoY from 2.37 million mt in FY2024, with the growth rate lower than the previous 3%. Among them, the annual production of the Jharsuguda aluminium smelter increased by 3% to 1.83 million mt, compared to 1.784 million mt in the previous fiscal year. The BALCO smelter's production increased slightly by 1% to 592,000 mt, compared to 586,000 mt in the previous fiscal year.
Although quarterly production was affected by temporary supply chain disruptions, driven by expansion projects, Vedanta's alumina production increased by 9% in FY2025.
