[SMM Daily Review: Lithium Carbonate Spot Prices Continue to Decline Sharply on April 29]
The SMM index price for battery-grade lithium carbonate was 68,372 yuan/mt, down 626 yuan/mt from the previous working day. The price range for battery-grade lithium carbonate was 66,500-70,000 yuan/mt, with an average price of 68,250 yuan/mt, down 600 yuan/mt from the previous working day. The price range for industrial-grade lithium carbonate was 66,050-66,950 yuan/mt, with an average price of 66,500 yuan/mt, down 600 yuan/mt from the previous working day. The price center of spot lithium carbonate transaction prices continued to move significantly lower. Considering that subsequent demand is unlikely to meet previous incremental expectations, while the total output from upstream supply remains at a high level, and with the current downward trend in ore prices, it is difficult to provide upward support for lithium carbonate prices amidst a continuous surplus. Taking into account the current supply and demand situation in the market and the trend of raw material prices, it is expected that lithium carbonate prices may remain in a state of weakness and volatility in the short term.
