First-tier cities launch policy of offering school places with home purchases! Guangzhou's Nansha takes the lead in implementation

On April 28, Nansha District, Guangzhou, issued a notice to implement the relevant spirit of the "Several Measures of Nansha District on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Real Estate Industry."

The notice clearly states that if the parents or other legal guardians of school-age children and adolescents purchase newly-built commercial housing in Nansha District from January 10, 2025 (including January 10, 2025, the same hereinafter) and own 100% of the property or jointly own 100% of the property with their children;

and if the parents or other legal guardians and their children have no property in the city, but the grandparents of school-age children and adolescents purchase newly-built commercial housing in Nansha District from January 10, 2025, and the grandparents own 100% of the property, and the children live with their grandparents in the same household for more than three years, they can all apply for enrollment in the district-owned public schools for the starting grades of compulsory education in Nansha District.

According to Southern Metropolis Daily, this is the first region among current first-tier cities to implement a policy of offering school places with property purchases.
