In recent years, China's new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has witnessed rapid development amidst the transition towards intelligence and green technology. Statistics show that over the past three years, China's automobile exports have successively surpassed the 2 million, 3 million, and 5 million unit marks. The Southeast Asian market has demonstrated particularly outstanding performance. With the accelerated economic development of ASEAN and the rising demand for green and low-carbon transportation, China's NEVs have gradually expanded their market share in the region. Among ASEAN countries, Thailand exhibits a relatively high demand for China's NEV exports.

Meanwhile, Thailand is accelerating its transformation into an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. In recent years, multiple international automakers have announced investments to establish EV production sites in Thailand, with an expected influx of over $5 billion in investments over the next five years. This trend will not only drive the upgrading of Thailand's domestic automotive industry but may also profoundly reshape the automotive manufacturing landscape in Southeast Asia.

Against this backdrop, the 2025 SMM 2nd Southeast Asia Automotive Supply Chain Conference will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 16-17, 2025. A special roundtable forum will be organized to jointly explore—The Pathways for Building and Optimizing Localized Supply Chains in Southeast Asia, with the participation of Harendra Saksena, Chief Procurement Officer of Ather Energy. We sincerely invite industry elites to join us in discussing these challenges and opportunities, working hand in hand to drive the prosperity and development of the automotive industry in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Guest Speaker Introduction

Topic of Speech - Roundtable Forum: The Pathways for Building and Optimizing Localized Supply Chains in Southeast Asia

As the Chief Procurement Officer, prior to joining Ather, Harendra spent 15 years at Johnson Electric in Hong Kong, where he undertook various responsibilities including procurement, commodity strategy, supplier quality and development, compliance, industrialization, human resources and product development, indirect procurement, and material planning.

He played a pivotal role in establishing strategic partnerships with European automotive semiconductor leaders and global suppliers of steel and plastics from Japan, Europe, and China. He also held leadership positions at Siemens VDO Automotive (now Continental Automotive) and Daewoo Motors India, successfully launching passenger vehicles through the development of a supply base in India.

With a proven track record of leading initiatives based on strategy, innovation, internal and external collaboration, and the establishment of long-term relationships with suppliers, Harendra firmly believes that Ather's products will serve as a guiding star, inspiring competition on a global scale.
