The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE (Fraunhofer ISE) in Germany is collaborating with multiple industrial partners to develop innovative solutions aimed at significantly reducing silver consumption in silicon heterojunction (HJT) batteries. Andreas Lorenz, the person in charge, stated that by adopting the optimal combination of silver-copper composite paste and pure copper paste, and optimizing the fine-line printing process, they are expected to produce high-efficiency heterojunction batteries with a silver consumption of only 0.0014 grams per watt. Even the long-term goal of reducing silver consumption to below 0.002 grams per watt has been successfully demonstrated for the first time.
