On the evening of April 25, Ganfeng Lithium (002460) announced that it had signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement and a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with the People's Government of Gongshu District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province (hereinafter referred to as the "Gongshu District Government") and Hangzhou Energy Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hangzhou Energy") respectively. The three parties will comprehensively carry out cooperation in industrial cultivation and long-term development, establishing a win-win long-term strategic cooperative development relationship. It was agreed that the company intends to invest in and construct a high specific energy solid-state battery R&D and industrialisation base in Gongshu District, Hangzhou, and carry out cooperation in areas such as electrification in the transportation sector, expansion of the new energy industry, broadening of the energy supply chain, and comprehensive recycling of power batteries.
According to information, Hangzhou Energy is a state-owned holding enterprise in Hangzhou, with its main businesses covering solid waste management, energy storage technology services, energy conservation management services, operation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and solar power generation technology services.
Ganfeng Lithium stated that all parties will closely focus on areas such as electrification in the transportation sector, expansion of the new energy industry, broadening of the energy supply chain, and comprehensive recycling of power batteries to build a green energy system. This is conducive to improving the company's industry chain layout, enhancing its core competitiveness and profitability, and aligning with the company's development strategy of upstream-downstream integration.
Battery.com.cn noted that recently, Ganfeng Lithium issued an announcement regarding the R&D progress of the company's solid-state battery project. The company has formed a full-chain layout for solid-state batteries, possessing R&D and production capabilities in key links of solid-state batteries such as sulphide electrolytes and raw materials, oxide electrolytes, lithium metal anodes, battery cells, and battery systems, and is accelerating the commercial application of solid-state batteries.
Technological Breakthroughs and Product Matrix: A Two-Way Push
Ganfeng Lithium is simultaneously advancing breakthroughs in the industrialisation thresholds of both silicon-based and lithium metal anode routes, with lithium metal anode technology as the core, to drive the mass production process of high specific energy batteries. The cycle life of 400Wh/kg battery cells has exceeded 800 cycles and completed engineering verification, demonstrating potential for large-scale application; the world's first 10Ah product at the 500Wh/kg level has achieved small-batch mass production, setting a benchmark for the industrialisation of lithium metal batteries. Meanwhile, the silicon-based anode is also advancing in parallel. The company's silicon-based system has achieved a product gradient layout of 320-450Wh/kg, with the cycle life of 320Wh/kg battery cells exceeding 1000 cycles and the 450Wh/kg technical reserves reaching the industry's top level, meeting the differentiated needs for energy density and cycle performance in different scenarios.
For low-altitude economy and high-end equipment fields such as drones and robots, Ganfeng Lithium has innovatively integrated cylindrical packaging and high specific energy battery technology, developing 21700 cylindrical battery cells with energy densities covering 330-400Wh/kg, combining high specific energy with structural stability to provide efficient power support for lightweight equipment.
Multi-Scenario Applications Accelerate Commercialisation Process
Ganfeng Lithium is gradually improving its integrated layout for solid-state batteries and actively promoting the commercialisation process of solid-state batteries. In the field of NEVs, the company has signed a joint development agreement with a leading international automaker, with the development and on-vehicle verification of high specific energy lithium anode batteries currently underway; in the low-altitude economy field, the company has launched solid-state battery solutions tailored for low-altitude flight scenarios, reaching cooperation with well-known drone and eVTOL enterprises, with samples entering the airworthiness certification process, laying the foundation for the commercial operation of the low-altitude economy; in the field of consumer electronics, the company has achieved new breakthroughs in the development of highly safe and low-temperature-resistant solid-state lithium batteries, and has already sent samples in bulk to internationally renowned mobile phone enterprises for verification.
