[Ten Departments: Building Virtual Power Plants in the Transportation Sector] On April 25, ten departments including the Ministry of Transport issued guidance on promoting the integrated development of transportation and energy. The guidance emphasizes encouraging the promotion of new models and the incubation of emerging industries. By aggregating resources such as distributed power supplies, electric vehicles (EVs), and charging (swapping) facilities, virtual power plants will be established in the transportation sector. It advocates for innovation in business models, such as the separation of vehicle and battery ownership, and vigorously developing emerging industries like battery asset management and financial leasing of new energy transportation equipment, thereby creating an intelligent integration innovation platform for the vehicle-station-pile-network industry. It promotes the in-depth integration of new energy vehicles (NEVs) with smart energy, intelligent transportation, and smart cities, fostering the innovative development of a new pan-automotive ecosystem.
