Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 25, SAIC Volkswagen ("SAIC VW") announced a strategic partnership with Momenta, a Chinese intelligent driving technology company. Under the collaboration, SAIC Volkswagen will equip its future vehicles with the latest mass-production-ready integrated assisted driving solution jointly developed with Momenta.

Powered by Momenta's cutting-edge one-stage, end-to-end Flywheel large model, the solution is aligned with the latest advancements in AI-driven automotive technologies, promising users a safer, more comfortable, and more reassuring driver assistance experience.

The partnership follows a philosophy of "global vision, local solutions," with both sides committed to developing high-standard, mass-market assisted driving technologies that are safe, inclusive, and tailored to the needs of Chinese consumers.

At the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025, SAIC VW also unveiled its first range-extended concept car, the ID. ERA. The new integrated assisted driving solution based on Momenta's large model technology is expected to play a crucial role in advancing SAIC VW's push toward greater vehicle intelligence.

In addition to the collaboration with SAIC VW, Momenta announced extended strategic partnerships with seven other major brands during the AUTO SHANGHAI, including General Motors' Buick, FAW Toyota, Honda China, Cadillac, SAIC Audi, and IM Motors. Since serving its first production model in 2022, Momenta has rapidly expanded its footprint, delivering solutions for eight models in 2023 and scaling up to 26 models by 2024. To date, Momenta has supported the mass production of more than 130 vehicle models across its partnerships.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
