The Ministry of Transport and nine other departments issued guidance on promoting the integrated development of transportation and energy. The guidance states that by 2035, it aims to achieve comprehensive integration and interaction between transportation and the new-type energy system, initially establishing a transportation energy consumption system primarily based on clean and low-carbon energy consumption, with technological innovation as a key support and green, intelligent, and resource-efficient practices as the guiding principles. The proportion of electricity in the end-user energy consumption of the transportation sector will remain high, with green electricity developed based on transportation infrastructure primarily consumed and utilized locally. Battery electric vehicles (EVs) will become the mainstream of newly sold vehicles, with large-scale applications of new-energy commercial heavy-duty trucks, and the green fuel supply system for transportation will be basically established.
