The non-ferrous metals industry is facing dual challenges of energy and environment, with green transformation becoming increasingly urgent. High-energy-consuming processes such as mining, mineral processing, and smelting have long relied on fossil fuels: mining equipment and auxiliary systems consume tens of millions of kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, mineral processing accounts for a high proportion of energy consumption, and pyrometallurgy consumes large amounts of coal and coke, exacerbating corporate costs and energy supply pressures. Against the backdrop of the "dual carbon" goals, green trade barriers, and increasingly stringent environmental protection policies, the non-ferrous metals industry urgently needs transformation. Introducing green energy sources such as solar and wind power can reduce energy consumption costs; adopting clean smelting and efficient pollution treatment technologies can both reduce emissions and enhance corporate competitiveness.
