Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 23, 2025, at the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor unveiled the Leapmotor B01, the first all-electric sedan under its B series, marking the model's global debut.

As the flagship model for the brand's 10th anniversary, the B01 aims to define the 150,000-yuan market of new energy intelligent electric sedans, with a core focus on "high-quality smart cars for young people."

The new B-series product lineup will span three key categories—SUVs, sedans, and crossovers—designed to cater to the diverse needs of young, tech-savvy consumers. Built on the LEAP3.5 technology architecture, the B01 is the first sedan in the B-series.

Leapmotor also announced that the B10 will begin global road testing in June, with plans for a market launch across over 20 countries and regions in 2025. Pre-sales for the B01 will also open in June.

The B01 features an aerodynamically refined body with a drag coefficient of just 0.197Cd, surpassing models like the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model S. Its sleek design draws inspiration from the sailfish, balancing coupe aesthetics with practicality. The B01 comes in eight body colors, including the new "Morgan Pink," developed in collaboration with Pantone, which features a shimmering, romantic pink hue under sunlight.

Inside, the B01 offers two interior themes, Moonlight Purple and Cloud Gray, paired with a 14.6-inch 2.5K HD central control screen and an 8.8-inch fully digital instrument display. Premium touches include chrome accents, a polished mirror finish, and integrated ambient lighting that syncs with the music. The B01 also features Leapmotor's "transformable co-driver space," with modular accessories like foldable desks, phone stands, and cup holders for a variety of uses.

With a class-leading 650-km CLTC-rated range and enhanced LiDAR-assisted driving, the Leapmotor B01 sets a new benchmark for intelligent electric sedans in the 150,000-yuan market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
