Germany's PV Installations Significantly Declined in March
On April 21, according to data from the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), Germany's new solar PV installations in March were approximately 787.2 megawatts (MW). This figure was lower than the 1,665 MW in February and the 1,401 MW in March 2024, marking the lowest monthly performance in the German PV market since December 2022, when new installations were 456.5 MW.
This decline may be related to the new regulations of the Solarspitzengesetz (Solar PV Act), which took effect at the end of February. The law stipulates: "When spot market electricity prices are negative, new PV systems will not receive compensation.
