According to SMM statistics, the aluminum ingot inventory in Guangdong on April 23 was 240,600 mt, in Wuxi was 217,000 mt, and in Gongyi was 85,900 mt, with the total inventory in the three regions reaching 543,500 mt, a decrease of 9,700 mt compared to the previous trading day. SMM believes that the daily inventory of aluminum ingots in the three domestic regions dropped sharply by nearly 10,000 mt today. Although Guangdong maintained a slight inventory buildup, Wuxi experienced a destocking of 8,400 mt today, and the destocking showed a significant rebound. The destocking obstruction yesterday was likely just a "feint," caused by local suppliers holding back cargoes at the beginning of the week. SMM expects that the destocking pace in east China and Gongyi will likely drive the domestic aluminum ingot inventory to maintain a downward trend in late April.
