Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 21, Great Wall Motor's WEY brand officially opened presales for its all-new Gaoshan MPV series, introducing three model variants: the Gaoshan 7, the Gaoshan 8, and the Gaoshan 9.

The Gaoshan 8 and 9 are priced between 329,800 yuan and 379,800 yuan, while the price for the Gaoshan 7 will be determined through a user co-creation initiative and revealed at the official launch.

The all-new Gaoshan family embraces a bold and luxurious exterior design. The front fascia features a large vertical-slat grille, adorned with extensive chrome detailing that enhances its premium appeal. A set of "Galaxy Stream" headlights, seamlessly integrated into the grille's extension, visually broadens the front end and adds a touch of modern sophistication.

From the side, the Gaoshan adopts a popular floating roof design, complemented by power-operated sliding doors. In terms of dimensions, the Gaoshan 7 stretches 5 meters in length with a 3,085 mm wheelbase. The Gaoshan 8 extends beyond 5.2 meters with a 3,145 mm wheelbase, while the range-topping Gaoshan 9 reaches 5.4 meters in length and a 3,275 mm wheelbase, offering expansive interior space across the lineup.

The rear design draws inspiration from bamboo forests, incorporating layered elements and shifting light patterns into the taillight structure. This motif lends the rear end a dynamic and organic feel, reinforcing the vehicle's poised and grounded stance. When illuminated, the taillights evoke the gentle glow of light filtering through bamboo leaves.

Inside, the all-new Gaoshan presents a newly designed cabin influenced by the iconic flying eaves of traditional Huīzhōu architecture. It features a dual-screen setup with a 91-degree viewing angle, supported by a 22.4-degree downward tilt and a 56.3-degree horizontal field of vision, optimizing both aesthetics and usability.

Powering the entire Gaoshan lineup is Great Wall Motor's Hi4 Performance Edition, an intelligent electric-hybrid AWD system. This setup combines a hybrid parallel configuration with a four-speed transmission and dual electric motors on the front and rear axles. The system delivers a maximum output of 337 kW and peak torque of 644 Nm, enabling 0100 km/h acceleration in just 5.7 seconds. The Gaoshan 9 is equipped with a 51.55 kWh battery, offering a WLTC-rated range of up to 201 kilometers on battery power alone.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
