Nigeria and South Africa recently signed a mineral development cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening collaboration in the mining sector, promoting technological exchange and investment. This move is part of Nigeria's strategy to reduce its reliance on oil and drive economic diversification. As a mining powerhouse in Africa, South Africa will assist Nigeria in developing its abundant mineral resources, including gold, iron ore, and lithium. The Nigerian government stated that this agreement will create job opportunities and enhance value addition in the mining industry.
