Aluminum Ingot Inventory Rises Slightly Across Key Regions, Caution on Short-term Market Pressure

Published: Apr 22, 2025 11:39
According to SMM statistics, the aluminum ingot inventory in Guangdong on April 22 was 239,700 mt, in Wuxi was 225,400 mt, and in Gongyi was 88,100 mt, with a total inventory of 553,200 mt across the three regions, an increase of 400 mt compared to the previous trading day. Yesterday, some suppliers were bullish and held back cargoes, leading to a decline in outflows from warehouses in the aluminum ingot market. Coupled with a slight increase in arrivals of northern cargoes this week, the daily inventory in the three domestic regions faced resistance to decline. Be cautious of short-term pressure on futures and spot markets due to weak destocking.

Fed to Keep Large Banks' Capital Levels Unchanged, Postpones Stress Test Reforms Until 2027
The US Fed has announced that it will maintain the capital levels of large banks unchanged during the upcoming stress test cycle (corresponding to the 2026 cycle). At the same time, the US Fed is planning multidimensional reforms to this annual test, aiming to enhance its transparency. The US Fed's Vice Chair for Supervision, Bowman, revealed that adjustments to the stress capital buffer requirements for large banks will be postponed until 2027. This move is intended to provide the US Fed with sufficient time to evaluate potential flaws that may be exposed in its testing models when assessing banks' financial conditions under simulated economic downturn scenarios.
