China's Imports of Nickel Hydrometallurgy Intermediate Products Hit a New Monthly High in March

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China's imports of nickel hydrometallurgy intermediate products reached 168,800 mt in March 2025, up 40,900 mt MoM, an increase of 31.98%. Imports were up 39,900 mt YoY, a rise of 30.99%. Among these, imports from Indonesia stood at 146,100 mt, up 31.37% MoM, accounting for 86.57% of total imports for the month. From January to March 2025, total imports of nickel hydrometallurgy intermediate products reached 449,800 mt, up 42.50% YoY. Nickel hydrometallurgy technology offers cost advantages, and Indonesia has prioritized its development. With the commissioning of new capacity, production of nickel hydrometallurgy intermediate products has significantly increased, providing ample raw materials for nickel sulphate and refined nickel. China's imports of nickel hydrometallurgy intermediate products remain at a high level. Source: General Administration of Customs
