SMM Rare Earth Morning Meeting Summary: Rare Earth Metal Prices Remain Stable, Market Trading Activity Poor. SMM April 22 News:

Rare Earth Ore

Prices: The price of rare earth carbonate is around 33,700 yuan/mt, monazite is around 41,900 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore is around 184,000 yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Currently, the fluctuation range of rare earth ore products is relatively small, and the price of rare earth ore fluctuates with the oxide market, showing a slight downward trend overall.

Rare Earth Oxides

Prices: The quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide is around 415,000-417,000 yuan/mt, the mainstream quotation range for dysprosium oxide is 1.63-1.65 million yuan/mt, and the quotation for terbium oxide remains stable at around 7.00-7.05 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, medium-heavy rare earth prices continued to be in the doldrums, producer quotations remained relatively firm, but some traders actively sold at low prices, market inquiry activity was relatively low, and the enthusiasm for selling was relatively high. The actual transaction prices in the rare earth oxide market declined.

Rare Earth Metals

Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd alloy is 513,000-515,000 yuan/mt, the quotation for dysprosium-iron alloy is around 1.62-1.63 million yuan/mt, and the quotation for terbium metal is around 8.9-8.95 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Recently, metal plant quotations have been relatively stable, but actual transaction conditions were significantly poor. It is understood that magnetic material enterprises have low purchase willingness due to low order volumes, mostly purchasing as needed, and the trading activity in the metal market is poor.

NdFeB Blank

Prices: NdFeB blank N38 (Ce) was quoted at 136-146 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40M was quoted at 182-192 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40H was quoted at 186-196 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 45SH (ce) was quoted at 236-256 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, due to the stabilization of upstream raw material prices, downstream magnetic material factories quoted blanks according to last week's prices, and NdFeB blank prices stabilized. Due to the dual impact of export controls and trade war tariffs, the demand for high-performance magnetic materials is weak, while the demand for low-performance magnetic materials is robust due to policy dividends and re-export effects.

NdFeB Scrap

Prices: Pr-Nd recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 425-436 yuan/kg; dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 1,581-1,601 yuan/kg; terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 5,182-5,282 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Currently, due to the market psychology of rushing to buy amid continuous price rise and holding back amid price downturn, downstream enterprises have low purchasing enthusiasm. Also, due to the decline in oxide prices, scrap prices have been correspondingly affected. Some traders actively sold during this period, leading to an increase in scrap trading volume, but overall prices showed a downward trend.
