China's aluminum semis production in March fell short of the same period last year.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released a report showing that China's aluminum semis production in March 2025 reached 5.982 million mt, slightly lower than the 6.03 million mt in the same period last year. Industrial extrusion was driven by the installation rush, with top-tier enterprises maintaining full production, but the overall performance of construction extrusion remained weak. The performance of NEV extrusion was mixed, and although the aluminum plate/sheet and strip and aluminum foil industries were in their peak season, domestic trade competition intensified.
