According to reports, in response to the US government's tariff hikes, Ford and General Motors will raise prices in the US market. While export growth has slowed compared to previous years, auto exports in 2025 will reach a super high level, and auto parts exports will also hit a record high, both showing strong surges. Motorcycle exports have also grown significantly. This year, lithium-ion battery exports have maintained a steady monthly level of $5 billion, compared to last year's continuous upward trend.

[Ministry of Commerce: Launch "Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration" Application Pilot to Promote Large-Scale Infrastructure Construction and Industrialization of Intelligent Connected Vehicles]The Ministry of Commerce issued the "Work Plan for Accelerating the Comprehensive Pilot Program for Expanding the Opening of the Service Industry," which mentioned launching a "vehicle-road-cloud integration" application pilot to promote large-scale infrastructure construction and the industrialization of intelligent connected vehicles. Focusing on key industries such as intelligent connected NEVs and high-end equipment, the plan supports business model innovation and develops services such as maintenance, design, R&D, and leasing. It also explores the development of emerging leasing businesses and cross-regional supervision of large equipment.

[Stellantis and Leap Motor Announce Upcoming Local Assembly Project in Malaysia]Stellantis Group and Leap Motor announced that they will soon launch a local assembly project in Malaysia, based on Stellantis' existing Gurun plant in Kedah, Malaysia. The initial investment for the project is €5 million (approximately RM24 million), with plans to start local production of the first Leap Motor model, the C10, by the end of 2025.

[China's New Car Smart Cockpit Penetration Rate Reaches 73%]A report on the automotive industry indicates that the market penetration rate of cars with combined driving assistance functions in China has grown rapidly and has now entered the stage of large-scale application. The penetration rate has increased from 23.5% in 2021 to 57.3% in 2024, and it is expected to exceed 70% this year for L2-level, or partially autonomous, vehicles. Additionally, the importance of smart cockpits is growing. The report also notes that the penetration rate of smart cockpits in new cars in China and globally has climbed to 73% and 58%, respectively, exceeding more than half of the market share.

[Ford: Tariff Impact May Lead to Price Increases in June]In a memo to dealers, Ford stated that US tariff policies could lead to price increases in the coming months. Ford mentioned that the costs of these tariffs may start being passed on to some vehicle deliveries from June, as "certain tariffs may persist for at least some time." "Customers will have many options, and the company has a large inventory available for selection before June 2," Ford said. "The tariff situation is dynamic, and we will continue to assess the potential impact of tariff actions."
