SMM April 21 News: According to SMM, Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. launched a public tender for the sale of approximately 20 mt of antimony oxychloride starting today. Official sources indicate that the antimony grade in this batch of antimony oxychloride is around 50%, with a moisture content of about 18%. For details, please refer to the assay report. The delivery method is self pick-up by the buyer, with the buyer responsible for the freight. The buyer must pay before picking up the goods, and the delivery location is at Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. The buyer must pick up the goods by April 30, 2025.

Currently, the official starting bid price has not been announced. The price of antimony oxychloride is determined through coefficient-based bidding, calculated as the weekly average price of SMM's #1 antimony ingot for the shipment week multiplied by the grade and coefficient. Buyers should submit their bids based on their own circumstances. To ensure the timeliness of the bids, please send the inquiry form, a copy of the business license of the participating bidder, and invoicing information (with official seal) to 95186930@qq.com by 11:30 AM on April 22, 2025, and promptly contact our staff for collection.

Market participants noted that Shandong Humon's tender of approximately 20 mt of antimony oxychloride can, to some extent, test market consumption. The final bid price may reflect certain market conditions. SMM will continue to track and report on the progress of the bidding.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
