Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 18, Horizon Robotics, a leading provider of intelligent driving solutions for passenger vehicles, officially introduced its Horizon SuperDrive™ (HSD) urban driving assistance system for mass production at its 2025 Annual Product Launch Event in Shanghai.

The company also announced that the system will make its global volume-production debut in September 2025 in partnership with Chery Automobile, launching on a new model under Chery's premium EXEED brand.

The HSD system is powered by Horizon Robotics' proprietary Journey™ 6 processing hardware and a cutting-edge end-to-end architecture that emulates human driving behavior, delivering a driving experience that is not only intelligent but also safe, smooth, and reliable. Designed with full in-house development, HSD integrates the company's hallmark synergy between software and hardware, optimizing both performance and scalability for mass production.

To cater to a wide range of vehicle segments, Horizon Robotics rolled out three versions of the HSD system, supporting everything from entry-level to premium models. The company also introduced the "Horizon Cell," a modular, plug-and-play hardware platform that allows automakers to upgrade systems without switching costs, offering greater flexibility and accelerating the widespread adoption of intelligent driving technologies.

Horizon Robotics and Chery Automobile have maintained a strategic partnership since 2021, with the former's Journey chip series already implemented across multiple models under Chery's four premium sub-brands. The two companies today announced that the HSD full-stack system is set to make its global debut in a new model under Chery's EXEED brand, with mass production scheduled to begin in September of this year.

In addition to its partnership with Chery, Horizon Robotics is also expanding its collaboration with Volkswagen Group. Through their joint venture CARIZON, the companies are co-developing advanced driving assistance systems based on the HSD platform, with several Volkswagen models slated to begin production in 2026.

With its integrated approach to software-hardware development, proven mass production capabilities, and scalable business model, Horizon Robotics has built a robust ecosystem that spans over 40 carmakers, including all of China's top 10 OEMs. The company has secured more than 310 design-wins across a wide range of passenger vehicles, with over 200 vehicle models currently on the market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
