The operating rate in the brass billet industry this week was 61.51%, down 0.96% WoW. It is understood that companies generally reported insufficient new orders in the past two weeks, with some even experiencing downstream order cancellations. Current production mainly focuses on digesting previous orders. Inventory-wise, the days of raw material inventories at SMM sample companies increased by 0.24 days to 4.31 days WoW, while the days of finished product inventories decreased by 0.77 days to 5.04 days. Companies are cautiously controlling inventory due to weak demand. Looking ahead to next week, with copper prices expected to remain stable, downstream sentiment is likely to ease. SMM forecasts the operating rate will rebound by 1.02 percentage points to 62.53% next week.
