SMM April 18 News: This week, the price of scrap batteries continued to rise. Most secondary lead smelters reported that despite two increases in purchase prices, arrivals remained unsatisfactory. Additionally, recyclers faced pressure in purchasing due to scarce market supply. As the Labour Day holiday approached, recyclers' enthusiasm for purchasing declined, and some even entered the holiday early. By then, it is expected that the arrivals of raw materials for secondary lead smelters will be even weaker. Due to the pressure in raw material procurement, the supply of secondary crude lead remained scarce, with few offers during the week. Most companies still focused on delivering long-term contracts. As of April 18, 2025, the mainstream ex-factory price of secondary crude lead excluding tax ranged from 15,700 to 15,850 yuan/mt, and in some regions, the supply price remained inverted compared to the price of secondary refined lead. 》Order to view SMM metal spot historical prices
