Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 15, the newly updated Volvo XC90 officially hit the Chinese market with five available variants, priced between 638,900 yuan and 894,900 yuan. For a limited time, customers can enjoy a special offer ranging from 479,000 yuan to 679,000 yuan.
As a mid-cycle refresh, the all-new XC90 retains its familiar design language while incorporating subtle yet refined updates.
Visually, the front fascia has been enhanced with a redesigned grille seamlessly integrated with slightly revised "Thor's Hammer" LED headlights, delivering a more contemporary and dynamic look. The lower front bumper now features a stretched intake and vertically aligned side vents, contributing to a sportier stance.
The side profile remains largely consistent with the existing model, though new trim accents along the lower body and fresh dual-tone multi-spoke wheels give it a more modern edge. The rear design sees no major changes, maintaining Volvo's signature styling that ensures strong visual recognition.
Inside, the cabin receives a comprehensive update. The dashboard is now equipped with a larger 11.2-inch floating central touchscreen and a new three-spoke steering wheel. A row of physical buttons beneath the display offers convenient access to frequently used functions. Enhancements extend to the air vents, secondary dashboard's storage layout, and infotainment system, all contributing to an improved user experience.
In terms of seating, the updated XC90 adds a new six-seat layout alongside the existing five- and seven-seat options, featuring individual second-row seats for enhanced comfort.
Under the hood, the all-new XC90 offers both a 2.0-liter turbocharged oil-fueled engine and a T8 plug-in hybrid electric powertrain. The oil-fueled variant comes in B5 and B6 versions, delivering 184 kW and 220 kW of output respectively. The T8 PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) produces a combined 335 kW and offers a battery-powered range of 84 kilometers under the CLTC standard.
