MIIT: NEV Sales Accounted for 42.4% of China's Total Auto Sales in March

I. Auto Sales Increased 8.2% YoY in March

In March, auto production and sales reached 3.006 million and 2.915 million units, up 11.9% and 8.2% YoY, respectively.

From January to March, auto production and sales reached 7.561 million and 7.47 million units, up 14.5% and 11.2% YoY, respectively.

(i) Passenger Vehicle Sales Increased 10.4% YoY in March

In March, passenger vehicle production and sales reached 2.574 million and 2.468 million units, up 14.4% and 10.4% YoY, respectively.

From January to March, passenger vehicle production and sales reached 6.513 million and 6.419 million units, up 16.1% and 12.9% YoY, respectively.

(ii) Commercial Vehicle Sales Decreased 2.4% YoY in March

In March, commercial vehicle production and sales reached 431,000 and 447,000 units, down 1.4% and 2.4% YoY, respectively.

From January to March, commercial vehicle production and sales reached 1.048 million and 1.051 million units, up 5.1% and 1.8% YoY, respectively.

II. NEV Sales Increased 40.1% YoY in March

In March, NEV production and sales reached 1.277 million and 1.237 million units, up 47.9% and 40.1% YoY, respectively. NEV sales accounted for 42.4% of total auto sales.

From January to March, NEV production and sales reached 3.182 million and 3.075 million units, up 50.4% and 47.1% YoY, respectively. NEV sales accounted for 41.2% of total auto sales.

III. Auto Exports Increased 1% YoY in March

In March, auto exports reached 507,000 units, up 1% YoY. NEV exports reached 158,000 units, up 26.8% YoY.

From January to March, auto exports reached 1.42 million units, up 7.3% YoY. NEV exports reached 441,000 units, up 43.9% YoY.
