SMM Rare Earth Morning Meeting Summary: Rare Earth Prices Slightly in the Doldrums, Medium-Heavy Rare Earth Prices Remain High. Yesterday, the prices of mainstream rare earth products were slightly in the doldrums overall, but the fluctuations were relatively small. Although there were reports of purchases for medium-heavy rare earth, there was no significant price increase overall. Given the previous strong upward trend in terbium oxide prices, they are already at a high level, and further upward space is expected to be limited.

SMM April 17 News:

Rare Earth Ore

Prices: The price of rare earth carbonate is around 34,500 yuan/mt, monazite is about 42,300 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore is approximately 188,000 yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Currently, suppliers of rare earth ore are heavily in a wait-and-see mode, with a relatively low willingness to sell, and the prices of rare earth ore remain stable.

Rare Earth Oxides

Prices: The quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide is about 424,000-428,000 yuan/mt, the mainstream quotation range for dysprosium oxide is 1.67-1.68 million yuan/mt, and the quotation for terbium oxide has been adjusted to around 7.16-7.25 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, the prices of mainstream rare earth products were generally in the doldrums, but the fluctuations were relatively small; although there were reports of purchases in medium-heavy rare earths, there was no significant price increase overall. Given the previous strong upward trend in terbium oxide prices, the prices are already at a high level, and further upward space is expected to be limited.

Rare Earth Metals

Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd alloy is 524,000-530,000 yuan/mt, the quotation for dysprosium-iron alloy is about 1.62-1.64 million yuan/mt, and the quotation for terbium metal is approximately 8.9-9 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, the price of Pr-Nd alloy continued to decline. Although upstream metal producers intended to stand firm on quotes, downstream order conditions were poor, and market demand was low, with magnetic material manufacturers still mainly in a wait-and-see mode; the prices of medium-heavy rare earth metals were generally stable, due to the firmness of raw material prices.

NdFeB Blank

Prices: NdFeB blank N38 (Ce) was quoted at 142-152 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40M was quoted at 188-198 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40H was quoted at 192-202 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 45SH (ce) was quoted at 242-262 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, due to the decline in upstream raw material prices, the activity of market inquiries and quotations increased. In the magnetic material market, low-price inquiries became more common, but most producers' quotations remained high, resulting in still scarce low-price trading volumes.

NdFeB Scrap

Prices: Pr-Nd recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 446-457 yuan/kg; dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 1,587-1,609 yuan/kg; terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 5,287-5,341 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Currently, the purchase willingness in the scrap market is not strong, and although low-price trading volumes have increased, the overall market sentiment remains in a wait-and-see mode.
