SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Remained Stable on April 15
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price was 71,584 yuan/mt, down 57 yuan/mt WoW from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate prices ranged from 70,200-72,900 yuan/mt, with an average of 71,550 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt WoW from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate prices ranged from 69,150-70,150 yuan/mt, with an average of 69,650 yuan/mt, flat WoW from the previous working day. The price center of spot lithium carbonate transaction prices remained stable today. Currently, downstream material plants have a high proportion of long-term contracts and customer supply, resulting in weak demand for spot orders. With no clear guidance on subsequent demand, just-in-time procurement is the main focus, and there are no inventory plans for now. Although upstream lithium chemical plants have slightly loosened their quotations, there is still a significant gap with downstream expected procurement prices. Overall, market transactions were scarce.
