Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 11, 2025, Great Wall Motor (GWM) and Germany's TÜV Rheinland officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement focused on enhancing eye comfort in intelligent vehicle cabins, according to a post on GWM's WeChat account.

The two parties will work closely on visual comfort technologies for smart cockpits, aiming to elevate in-vehicle display health standards.

Previously, the all-new Lanshan and Gaoshan models under the WEY brand had already become the first to receive TÜV Rheinland's certification for flicker-free displays and hardware-level low blue light emission. This new collaboration marks GWM as a pioneer in integrating TÜV Rheinland's multidimensional eye protection standards across its entire vehicle ecosystem, setting a new benchmark for visual health management in the automotive sector.

The partnership includes joint efforts in screen hardware calibration, adaptive dynamic lighting environments, and optimizing display settings for children, all designed to reduce visual fatigue during extended driving.

With users now interacting with in-car screens for over 2.5 hours per day, vehicle cabins are becoming the "fourth visual environment" following homes, classrooms, and offices. GWM has applied its proprietary optical screen technologies alongside TÜV Rheinland's standards to cut harmful blue light energy to below 50% and has developed its own "GWM Heiti" font for vehicle interfaces, improving text readability by over 30% and reducing the time needed for reading comprehension. These efforts contribute to a more comfortable visual experience for all occupants, particularly children.

The partnership will accelerate the implementation of eye protection technologies across more vehicle models, combining TÜV Rheinland's expertise in display certification with GWM's R&D strengths. The two companies aim to build a comprehensive "full-dimensional eye protection technology matrix" covering material safety, ambient light management, and user behavior optimization. With nearly two decades of collaboration already behind them, this expanded cooperation is also expected to support GWM's global expansion strategy.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
