China's Rare Earth Imports Decline While Exports Rise in March 2025

The General Administration of Customs released the import and export volume and value tables of key commodities for March 2025. In the rare earth sector, the national rare earth imports in March 2025 were 7,756.9 mt, a decrease of 42.2% YoY compared to March 2024. The cumulative rare earth imports were 24,679.1 mt, with a value of 1.87 billion yuan, representing a decrease of 30.9% in volume and 30.2% in value YoY. The national rare earth exports in March 2025 were 5,666.3 mt, an increase of 20.3% YoY compared to March 2024. The cumulative rare earth exports were 14,177.6 mt, with a value of 920 million yuan, representing an increase of 5.1% in volume and a decrease of 9.8% in value YoY.
