Geely Holding boasts 31% YoY leap in Q1 2025 automobile sales

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) announced a sales volume of 946,627 vehicles for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, representing a year-on-year jump of 31%.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") announced a sales volume of 946,627 vehicles for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, representing a year-on-year jump of 31%, according to a post on Geely Holding's WeChat account.

Notably, Geely Holding's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales in Q1 amounted to 463,372 units, surging 83% from the previous year, resulting in an NEV penetration rate of 49%.

Geely Automobile Holdings Limited reported total sales of 703,824 vehicles in Q1 2025—a roughly 48% spike compared to the year-ago period. Within those, NEV sales soared around 135% year on year to 339,200 units.

Breaking down the performance of specific brands in the quarter, the Geely brand achieved sales of 589,813 units, Lynk & Co recorded sales of 72,608 units, and ZEEKR sold 41,403 units in Q1 2025.

Additionally, Volvo Cars reported Q1 sales of 172,219 vehicles, including 74,483 NEVs, which accounted for 43% of the carmaker's total vehicle sales.

Polestar sold 12,304 vehicles through the first three months of 2025, indicating a 76% hike over a year earlier.

Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group saw its Q1 sales zoom up 62% from the previous year to 26,710 units.
