Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Nissan officially opened pre-orders for its all-new full-electric sedan, the N7, on April 13. The vehicle has begun arriving at dealerships across China and is scheduled to hit the market on April 27, with an expected starting price under 200,000 yuan.

Unveiled at the Auto Guangzhou 2024, the Dongfeng Nissan's N7 is a mid-size pure electric sedan featuring dimensions of 4,930mm in length, 1,895mm in width, and 1,487mm in height, with a 2,915mm wheelbase—making it larger than the brand's Altima. The N7 will be offered in six exterior colors, including Ink Blue, Flowing Silver, Frost White, Oatmeal Beige, Cyan, and Black.

The N7's exterior adopts a closed-off front that conveys Nissan's V-Motion design language, with a split-type headlamp setup and a full-width light bar—both common traits among modern battery electric vehicles (BEVs). It also features an interactive lighting system capable of displaying greeting patterns and multi-themed light shows.

Designed with aerodynamics in mind, the N7's sleek profile includes hidden door handles and a drag coefficient of just 0.208. It rides on 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 225/45 R19 tires, with the charging port located on the left rear fender.

At the rear, the full-width taillight integrates an illuminated NISSAN badge, while the license plate is positioned lower in the bumper to visually anchor the rear design.

Inside, the N7's cabin takes cues from new energy vehicle startups, reducing physical buttons in favor of a minimalist layout. Customers can choose between a forest green-and-white dual-tone scheme or a light gray interior. A 15.6-inch floating 2.5K central touchscreen serves as the focal point of the dashboard, running on the new NISSAN OS platform, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip. The system supports AI models such as DeepSeek and is compatible with HUAWEI HiCar, Carlink, and Apple CarPlay.

The N7 features a column-mounted gear selector and an open lower console for additional storage. The upper console includes dual retractable cup holders, a 50W wireless phone charger, and an armrest-integrated fridge capable of cooling to -6°C or heating up to 55°C. Other storage solutions include an armrest compartment, door pockets, and a 504-liter trunk (including a 54-liter underfloor compartment).

A highlight of the N7 is its newly developed "AI Zero-Pressure Cloud" seat, which integrates 49 sensors to intelligently conform to the human body and provide adaptive side support. The seat also offers heating, ventilation, and 12-point massage functions, though it may not be standard across all trims.

The N7 is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system co-developed with Momenta, utilizing a vision-based architecture. It supports highway and urban memory-based NOA (Navigation on Autopilot), as well as full-scenario smart parking. Additional features include a 256-color ambient lighting system and a 14-speaker surround sound audio setup, with final specifications to be confirmed closer to the market launch.

While Dongfeng Nissan has yet to reveal the full powertrain and range specifications, earlier regulatory filings from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicate the N7 will come in single-motor variants delivering either 160 kW or 200 kW, paired with 58 kWh or 73 kWh LFP battery packs. Depending on configuration, the N7 offers a range of 510 km, 525 km, 540 km, 625 km, or 635 km (testing conditions yet to be disclosed).

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
