CALB will continue to serve as the sole battery supplier for the company's next-generation models.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 11, CALB signed a deepened strategic cooperation agreement with Guangdong Huitian Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. ("XPENG AEROHT"), marking a new chapter in their partnership within the emerging low-altitude mobility sector, according to a post on CALB's WeChat account.

Building on their existing collaboration—where CALB exclusively supplied high-energy-density batteries for XPENG AEROHT's "Land Aircraft Carrier" modular flying car X3 —CALB will continue to serve as the sole battery supplier for the company's next-generation models.

XPENG AEROHT is dedicated to developing safe and intelligent flying vehicles for low-altitude travel, aiming to meet the growing demand for personal aviation, aerial commuting, and public service applications. With consistent advancements in the field, the company has become Asia's largest flying car company. Its portfolio includes successful test flights of models such as the "XPENG X2" and the "Land Aircraft Carrier," positioning it as a leading force in shaping the future of airborne mobility.

As a battery technology leader, CALB is actively expanding into the low-altitude economy by developing lightweight, high-power battery systems with fast-charging capabilities and enhanced safety. The company aims to support the transformation of low-altitude travel into a new engine of industrial growth.

CALB said this expanded partnership reflects mutual recognition of each other's strengths—XPENG AEROHT's deep understanding of the flying car industry, and CALB's advanced battery innovation. Sharing aligned strategic goals and a common vision for the development of the low-altitude economy, the two companies have agreed to deepen cooperation on future products, accelerate innovation, and jointly drive the high-quality, sustainable growth of this rapidly evolving sector.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
