SMM April 14 News:

Rare Earth Ore

Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices were around 35,000 yuan/mt, monazite prices were around 42,500 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore prices were around 189,000 yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Currently, suppliers in the rare earth ore sector are heavily in a wait-and-see mode, with low actual willingness to sell, and rare earth ore prices remain stable.

Rare Earth Oxides

Prices: The quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide was around 428,000-432,000 yuan/mt, the mainstream quotation range for dysprosium oxide was 1.68-1.7 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide prices were adjusted to around 7.1-7.2 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Last week, as the weekend approached, the rare earth oxide market was relatively quiet, with suppliers showing low enthusiasm in quoting, and downstream buyers also preferred to wait and see future market changes, resulting in low overall trading volume of rare earth oxides.

Rare Earth Metals

Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd alloy was 526,000-532,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy prices were around 1.63-1.65 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal prices were around 8.8-8.85 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: According to the survey, most metal manufacturers currently quote based on corresponding oxides, while downstream magnetic material enterprises show low purchasing enthusiasm, mainly purchasing as needed, with most magnetic material factories maintaining raw material inventory for more than one month.

NdFeB Blank

Prices: NdFeB blank N38 (Ce) was quoted at 142-152 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40M was quoted at 188-198 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40H was quoted at 192-202 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 45SH (ce) was quoted at 242-262 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Last week, due to the impact of policy news, the purchasing enthusiasm for medium-heavy rare earths in the magnetic material market surged significantly. However, as the weekend approached, market sentiment gradually calmed down, and the purchasing enthusiasm of magnetic material enterprises also noticeably declined.

NdFeB Scrap

Prices: Pr-Nd recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 457-465 yuan/kg; dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 1,613-1,635 yuan/kg; terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap was quoted at 5,287-5,341 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Last week, scrap market prices fluctuated with the volatility of oxides. As the weekend approached, market inquiries significantly decreased, and enterprise purchases were more driven by actual demand, with a strong wait-and-see sentiment prevailing in the overall market.

Rare earth market prices in the doldrums, actual transactions lack momentum [SMM Rare Earth Daily Review]
[SMM Rare Earth Daily Review: Rare earth market prices in the doldrums, actual transactions struggle to gain traction] Overall, the market shifted from yesterday's consolidation to a weaker trend today, with declines concentrated mainly in the terbium and Pr-Nd series. The transaction side remained sluggish, with downstream demand dominated by small rigid orders and actual negotiations centered around low-priced cargoes, while inquiries for other varieties stayed steady. In the short term, with the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday approaching, pre-holiday stockpiling expectations still exist, but both the cost side and transaction side have weakened, and Pr-Nd prices may move sideways within a narrow range. Whether the upward momentum can follow through still depends on the pace of stockpiling demand release from magnetic material enterprises.

[Pr-Nd oxide consolidates on a subdued note in the afternoon with more seller concessions, dysprosium stable while terbium holds at lows, magnetic material activity moderate] Yesterday, Pr-Nd oxide was affected by fluctuations in futures prices. In the afternoon, seller concessions increased somewhat, while magnetic material enterprises showed weak willingness to enter the market. Low-priced sources remained the mainstay of transactions, with actual shipments limited. Dysprosium oxide quotes held steady, with limited inquiries and sporadic deals. Terbium oxide high-level offers still struggled to find takers, and suppliers made slight price concessions to facilitate shipments, with actual negotiated prices on the lower side.
